Does anyone know how the cute little droid on Star Wars got his name? Well, it originated while George Lucas was making the movie American Graffiti. They were dubbing late one night and when they were looking for Reel 2 - Dialogue 2, someone shouted "R2-D2". And it stuck. The rest, as they say, is geek history.
