R2D2

Does anyone know how the cute little droid on Star Wars got his name? Well, it originated while George Lucas was making the movie American Graffiti. They were dubbing late one night and when they were looking for Reel 2 - Dialogue 2, someone shouted "R2-D2". And it stuck. The rest, as they say, is geek history. Who said you can't learn anything from Geekzmo?

Speaking of R2, you can now own your very own droid! How? By clicking on the link here that'll take you to Hammacher. R2D2 will set you back about US$120 but considering this fella has sensors that will allow him to follow you wherever you go and responds to about 40 different voice commands, he's definitely worth every penny.

With the lightsaber and R2D2, all I need now is a tall hairy wookie and I can play Han Solo.

The Geeks Strike Back

Everytime I pop over to ThinkGeek, I always find something I want to buy. Not that I need it but... I just want it. Here's another thing I want. Its a working replica of a lightsaber from Star Wars. Not only does it feel like a real lightsaber in your hand, with its metal hilt, the beam ignites like the real mccoy - with up/down power on/off effects.

The lightsabers come in different models - Anakin's, Darth Vader's, Obi Wan's and Mace Windu's.

And in case you're thinking of springing for one for your nephew this coming Christmas, this is no toy. Apparently, it is a licensed collectors item. So, be prepared to pay a pretty penny it.

I feel force is strong in you. Set your mind free and click on "Add To Cart".

More on these super-duper-cool lightsabers here.
